The Premier League has confirmed the reason Bournemouth's goal against Liverpool was disallowed in their clash at the Vitality Stadium.

In the 37th minute of the match, Bournemouth thought they had equalized through David Brooks after going behind to a Mohamed Salah penalty. However, the goal ended up being chalked off.

And the reason why the goal was disallowed has now been explained by the Premier League's official match centre account on social media after it Milos Kerkez was ruled offside in the build-up to the goal.

Taking to X, they wrote: "#BOULIV – 37’ The referee’s call of no goal was checked and confirmed by VAR – with Kerkez in an offside position in the build-up."

The decision to rule out Bournemouth's equalizer was the second the Premier League had to explain on social media from the contest at the Vitality.
