With the matchup set, two-time regular-season MVP and three-time Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes sits atop the oddsboard. Currently, Mahomes' Chiefs are slight favorites to win the Super Bowl, according to the odds.
Kansas City — the top seed in the conference — has hoisted the Lombardi Trophy the last two years, and Mahomes was the MVP in each.
Second on the board is Eagles' RB Saquon Barkley and third is Philly QB Jalen Hurts.
Barkley — the non-quarterback with the shortest odds — has been dominant through three playoff games so far. Through the wild card, divisional, conference championship rounds, Barkley has 442 rushing yards and five touchdowns.
However, recent history is not in Barkley's favor.
Over the last 10 years, only three non-QBs have won Super Bowl MVP: WR Cooper Kupp at Super Bowl LVI, WR Julian Edelman at Super Bowl LIII and LB Von Miller at Super Bowl 50.
The last time a running back won the award? Terrell Davis, way back in 1998 at at Super Bowl XXXII.
