Syria’s new transition as al-Sharaa is named President
The Baath party has been dissolved and Ahmed al-Sharaa has been named president for a transitional period in Syria. Al-Sharaa welcomed Qatar’s Emir to Damascus Thursday, for the first visit by a head of state since Bashar al-Assad was toppled last year.
