Liverpool ensured they remain in cruise control of the Premier League title race this weekend.

Arne Slot’s side continue to answer every question posed of them and look on course to win a League title in the Dutchman’s first season in charge.

Liverpool beat Bournemouth 2-0, ending an impressive unbeaten run from the Cherries.

While the scoreline perhaps flattered Slot’s side, it was testament to how professional they’ve been all season. Even when not quite at their best, they can go to one of the division’s form sides and leave with a victory.

Still, Slot was dealt a concern during the game. Liverpool have largely recovered most of their injured players of late but did see Trent Alexander-Arnold forced off on the south coast, which is worrying news ahead of Thursday night’s Carabao Cup semi-final second leg showdown against Tottenham.

With that in mind, here’s a look at the latest Liverpool injuries….

Trent Alexander-Arnold

The defender required attention after a knock on the south coast and eventually came off for Conor Bradley.

After the game, Slot confirmed Alexander-Arnold asked to be taken off.

“The situation was that he said to me, 'You have to take me off' and he sat on the floor and we took him off,” he said.

“He felt something, I can’t tell you exactly what and how bad it is of course because we are one hour after the game, but it is never a good sign if a player is asking for a substitution.

“This is not a fact but I would be surprised if he plays on Thursday, but let’s hope he is back with us as soon as possible.”

Potential return date: Unknown

Joe Gomez

Fellow defender Joe Gomez hasn’t played for Liverpool since suffering a hamstring injury in December’s 5-0 win over West Ham.

Still, Gomez has recently returned to Liverpool training, so it seems likely he will be back in action fairly soon.

Potential return date: February/March 2025
