Manchester United CEO Omar Berrada has reportedly issued staff with a warning regarding leaks to the media amid the ongoing cost-cutting measures at Old Trafford.

This month marks a year since Ineos completed a minority takeover of United. Since then, Sir Jim Ratcliffe's ownership has been defined by cost-cutting measures with 250 staff members having already been made redundant.

MEN Sport understands a further 100 members of staff are at risk of losing their job ahead of further redundancies as Ineos try to stem the threat of Financial Fair Play (FFP) sanctions by the Premier League. According to the Telegraph, Berrada has sent a company wide correspondence warning remaining members of staff about leaking information to the media regarding cuts and other private information.

The email addressed from Berrada, read: "Anyone disclosing information outside of the club is breaching their obligations of confidentiality, and we are very clear that this will be considered gross misconduct. To protect the club and its colleagues, additional measures are being put in place to prevent future breaches of confidentiality and also identify any persons responsible."

Berrada then reportedly warned staff that journalists could try to reach out to them by phone, WhatsApp or social media to gain information about the club. United poached Berrada from local rivals Manchester City midway through last season.

An agreement was reached for the CEO to join United in the summer to work alongside Dan Ashworth and Jason Wilcox in the day-to-day running of the club. Ashworth has since left the club via mutual agreement after a breakdown in the relationship between himself and Ineos.

The Reds faced a bill of £4.1m for parting ways with Ashworth just five months into his tenure at the club.
