On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy managers to stream or roster for the rest of the season. The recommended players and goalies can be used in standard fantasy leagues or for daily fantasy games.
Quinton Byfield, C/LW/RW, LA vs. DAL (36% rostered)
This might be a low-scoring matchup between a low-upside offensive team facing one of the league's top goalies in Jake Oettinger, but Byfield's on fire with five assists in his past two games. Byfield's line with Kevin Fiala and Alex Laferriere was flat-out dominant in their previous game, and with triple-position eligibility, it should be pretty easy to find room for Byfield on your roster. He's also been far more productive at home (13 points and plus-11 in 20 games) than on the road (15 points and minus-8 in 31 games).
Maxim Tsyplakov, LW/RW, NYI at WPG (2% rostered)
After sitting as a healthy scratch, Tspylakov has worked his way back up the depth chart and into Patrick Roy's good graces. He played 10:29 in his first game back from a benching but has since established his current four-game assists streak and played 16:52 in a tight game against the Knights. He'll play L2 and PP2 with Brock Nelson.
Anthony Beauvillier, LW, PIT at NYR (1% rostered)
Rickard Rakell slides over to center with Sidney Crosby injured, and Beauvillier joins the top line on the left wing. It'll be a wonder if the Pens can score even a couple of goals, and if they do, the bulk of it is coming from their top line. Beauvillier is a low-upside offensive player but the opportunity might produce something good. He notched an assist in their previous game, his first point in five games, and he's always good for hits if you need those.
Joakim Kemell, RW, NSH at CHI (0% rostered)
The 17th overall pick in the 2022 draft, Kemell is one of the Predators' top prospects and he's slated to make his NHL debut. He's a skilled offensive forward who was leading their minor league club in scoring with 25 points in 38 games, and he's projected to skate alongside Tommy Novak and Fedor Svechnkov on a young, speedy scoring line. It's worth noting the Preds have absolutely dominated the Hawks over the past five seasons, going 20-2-3 (!) since the 2019-20 season. Their games have generally been low-scoring affairs, but Kemell might have a chance to pop a point given how poor the Hawks' defense and goaltending has been.
Alexander Romanov, D, NYI at WPG (35% rostered)
Tony DeAngelo, D, NYI at WPG (33% rostered)
This is a very tough matchup for the Islanders but that's the point; Romanov will likely play a ton of minutes - he played 28:51 in his previous game - and get a lot of opportunities to block shots and dish out hits. Any offense Romanov can provide is a huge bonus, but it's unlikely to happen against the stingy Jets who will likely start Connor Hellebuyck.
The prospect of facing Hellebucyk definitely dampens DeAngelo's fantasy value. He's on a three-game points streak and playing plenty of minutes - he played 27:34 in his previous game - but there are few PP1 QB's available on the waiver wire.
K'Andre Miller, D, NYR vs. PIT (7% rostered)
Miller has provided two points, two shots, three hits and six blocked shots in his past two games. Combined with a matchup against the Pens, who may be without Sidney Crosby, this is shaping up to be a lopsided affair. Miller's fantasy ceiling isn't high, but no doubt he's on a hot streak right now and worth streaming. Miller's averaging nearly 22 minutes per game playing on the second pairing and on PP2.
