Apple Stock Jumps. Fears Over Falling iPhone Sales Ease.

Apple stock opened higher on Friday, boosted by the solid set of results the tech company posted after Thursday's close.

Apple reported earnings of $2.40 a share on revenue of $124.3 billion for the quarter ended Dec. 31, topping analysts' forecasts on both fronts.

Its current-quarter guidance on revenue, gross profit margin, and operating expenses came in line with expectations, helping ease worries about a drop-off in iPhone sales.
