VICTOR Adeboyejo is a doubt for Wanderers’ trip to Reading after aggravating a groin injury in midweek against Northampton Town.
The striker, who started both games under interim boss Julian Darby, is battling to be part of the squad at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.
Adeboyejo had only started three games in the previous 10 but partnered Aaron Collins in attack against the Cobblers and drew praise from Darby after the game.
“Fair play to Vic,” he told The Bolton News. “I thought he worked his socks off again.
He's got a slight groin problem, so we'll see how that goes for Saturday now. But he worked his socks off.
“He has not played a lot of football lately, and it got a little bit tight in the second half so we had to make changes, but we will see how he is.”
Darby had made two changes in midweek, and the interim boss said he had sympathy for Klaidi Lolos, who had given way for Josh Sheehan in midfield.
“We have a good squad and players who are on their way back from injury as well,” he said. “There are players on the bench who don't deserve to be on the bench. I feel so sorry for Klaidi (Lolos). It's a shame, because I just had a little tweak in the tactics and we went with Josh instead of him.
“I thought he was excellent on Saturday. So I feel for him a little bit, I feel for Macca (John McAtee) as well. He got on Saturday and influenced the game.
“But that's football, you have to take it roughly smooth, and when you get your chance, you have to grab it with both hands.”
Collins provided the third goal of the night to take his tally to 15 for the season, and Darby has backed him to keep on firing for the next boss.
“At the moment, Collo is out of this world,” he said. “He just looks full of confidence, and strikers thrive off confidence and belief. Listen, I believe in him. I'm sure the fans believe in him, the rest of the players believe in him.
“When it's like that, it becomes a lot easier for anyone.
“It is the same for Joel Randall, and fair play to him, the boy has got real quality. On Saturday, he could have scored a hat-trick in his 15-20 minutes.
“He had the header, he had a one-on-one with the keeper, and he had one towards the far stick, where it just got charged down. He gets on the ball and makes things happen.”
