WILL Vaulks has been nominated for the Sky Bet Championship goal of the month for January.
The Oxford United midfielder gave the U’s the lead with his first goal for the club just before half-time at Plymouth Argyle.
Jordan Thorniley directed a long pass down the left channel for Greg Leigh, who nodded the ball into the path of Mark Harris, who turned and teed up Vaulks to hit a wonderful, rising effort first-time from 25 yards out.
The Pilgrims would go on to find a leveller via Rami Al Hajj less than 20 minutes into the second half.
Also shortlisted for the goal of the month award are Zian Flemming (Burnley), Amankwah Forson (Norwich City) and Josh Windass (Sheffield Wednesday).
Fans can vote for Vaulks via the Football League website before 5pm on Monday. Votes will be combined with the choices from a panel. The winner will be announced on February 14.
