SCOTT Arfield’s disappointing spell with Bolton Wanderers could come to an end tonight, with at least two Scottish clubs hoping to sign him before the deadline.
The former Rangers man has made just seven starts for the Whites following a summer move from MLS side Charlotte FC.
The 36-year-old has been in the first 11 just once in the league since October 22 and has struggled to win over the supporters.
But The Bolton News understands that he could bring his time with the club to an end today with Falkirk and another unnamed Scottish outfit both speaking to him about a deal to the end of the season.
New Wanderers head coach Steven Schumacher did not include him in his travelling squad for Reading at the weekend.
Arfield, who has had great success in English football with Burnley and Huddersfield Town, was brought to the club by Ian Evatt in the summer to add some experience lost by the release of Cameron Jerome and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson.
And though he has been a popular figure behind the scenes, his failure to pin down a place in the side and get fully fit after picking up immediately after a season in the US has made his exit inevitable.
