Chelsea can today reclaim a place in the Premier League’s top four when they host West Ham. A reasonably poor run of form has sent Enzo Maresca’s side down into sixth as things stand but the Blues could move at least level on points with Newcastle and Manchester City with a point against the Hammers. A win, however, would see them leapfrog both and move back into fourth.
Still, the Irons do appear to be building under former Blues boss Graham Potter, who is making his first return to Stamford Bridge since his sacking last year. If they can claim a victory against a Chelsea side who do appear to have stalled of late, it would be some statement of intent from Potter.
A London derby on the day of the transfer window deadline is likely to be packed with narrative. Follow all the action LIVE with Standard Sport’s dedicated match blog! Malik Ouzia and Dom Smith will be providing expert analysis from the ground!
