Marcus Rashford has sent a message to Manchester United after his Aston Villa loan move was confirmed.

Rashford will spend the remainder of the season on loan at Villa Park, where he will have the opportunity to play in the Champions League and fight for a top four finish.

The England international has been exiled by new United manager Ruben Amorim, who has made no secret of his displeasure at Rashford's efforts in training.

Villa will pay between 70 and 90 per cent of Rashford's wages, which a reportedly around £325,000 a week, and have the option of making the move permanent in the summer.

Upon confirmation of his move, Rashford wrote on Instagram: "I would like to thank Manchester United and Aston Villa for making this loan deal happen.

"I was lucky to have a few clubs approach me but Aston Villa was an easy decision - I really admire the way that Aston Villa have been playing this season, and the managers’ ambitions. I just want to play football and am excited to get started.

"I wish everyone at Manchester United all the best for the rest of the season."
