Kieran Tierney has agreed a deal to return to Celtic, Brendan Rodgers has confirmed.

The Arsenal left-back is out of contract at the end of the season and has been strongly linked with a move back to Scotland, having returned to fitness after a serious hamstring injury.

Tierney, who signed for Arsenal from Celtic for £25million in 2019, has now agreed a pre-contract with his former club.

That will see him join the Scottish champions in the summer, however Celtic boss Rodgers has suggested the club could push to bring forward the move.

Alex Valle, who has been at Celtic on loan from Barcelona, has had his spell in Scotland cut short, with Italian club Como said to be keen on signing the left-back.

Asked if Valle’s exit could mean Tierney joins this month instead, Rodgers said: "Ideally it would but he’s still at this moment an Arsenal player.

"I think everyone is agreed that will definitely take place in the summer. If we can do it beforehand, then great."
