Fans in the stands were in high spirits before the match, oblivious to the humiliating defeat ahead.
Yesterday, February 1, Brighton and Hove Albion took on Nottingham Forest at The City Ground.
Albion supporters filled the stands with blue and white and looked to be optimistic about the game.
Many sported blue and white scarves and held flags and signs aloft.
However, their spirits were quickly dampened as the Albion faced a crushing 90 minutes.
The Brighton side was down 3-0 by half time, spiralling into a 7-0 defeat by the final whistle.
Manager Fabian Hurzeler admitted it was his lowest moment as a manager.
He said: "It is not easy but we have to apologise for this result, to our supporters.
“They spend a lot of time and money supporting us and they are very disappointed about the result and therefore we just can apologise.”
