Jordan Henderson's transfer to Monaco is off with the former Liverpool captain to remain at Ajax.
Ajax received an approach from the Ligue 1 team on Thursday as it looks to bolster its squad going into the second half of the season. Especially as it has a Champions League game against Benfica coming up.
But The Athletic is now reporting that a move won't happen. It seems after discussions between the two clubs the midfielder will remain in the Netherlands and help Ajax challenge for the league. It means any potential reunion with Liverpool is off.

Monaco could be one of the teams that faces Liverpool in the Champions League last-16. Liverpool will take on either PSG vs Brest or Benfica vs Monaco as they battle it out in the round of 32.
Henderson will have to watch that game on TV instead as he stays in the Dutch capital. Ajax is currently second in the table and four points behind PSV with a game in hand. The 34-year-old has made 32 appearances this season and has played an integral role so far.
It's a better story this time around following his failed move to Al-Ettifaq. Henderson played just 19 games under Steven Gerrard before seeking an exit. And Gerrard himself has recently left the team after a turbulent spell.
Upon leaving, he said: "After careful consideration, the club and I have mutually agreed to part ways. This was not an easy decision, but sometimes in football, things don't work out as planned. The Saudi Pro League is a tough and competitive league, and I have nothing but respect for the players and staff who give their all every day.
"I want to sincerely thank everyone at the club for their support and hard work. Football in Saudi Arabia is moving in the right direction, and I will always appreciate my time here. Wishing the team and the fans nothing but success moving forward."
