Carlisle United teenager Sam Hetherington marked his first Darlington start with a goal in National League North.
The 19-year-old went into the Quakers side for their home clash with Brackley.
And Hetherington was soon onto the scoresheet as he fired impressively into the top corner from just inside the box after ten minutes (watch below).
The goal, though, could not help Darlington to victory as they went on to lose 4-2, despite taking a two-goal lead later in the first half.
Hetherington, who is on a half-season loan with the north east club, was substituted in the 74th minute. His next chance to impress will come at Spennymoor Town on Tuesday.
Taylor Charters was also in the starting line-up for Queen of the South in their Scottish League One home clash with Kelty Hearts.
The Blues midfielder was substituted by Peter Murphy on the hour mark as the fifth-placed Doonhamers lost 1-0. Next up is a trip to Cove Rangers next Saturday.
Luke Armstrong had a day to remember north of the border when he scored Motherwell’s opener in their 2-1 win at Rangers in the Scottish Premiership. It was his second goal for the club as Michael Wimmer’s side enjoyed back-to-back wins at Ibrox.

Armstrong, who was substituted after 62 minutes, will next be in action against St Mirren on March 15.
Aran Fitzpatrick was named man of the match on his first appearance back with Workington Reds after rejoining the Borough Park club on a work experience loan.
He played the full game at left-back as Mark Fell’s side lost 1-0 at home to FC United of Manchester in the Northern Premier League Premier Division.
Fitzpatrick’s fellow United teenager Jake Allan came off the bench in the 80th minute.
Carlisle City handed starts to three young Blues loanees in their 5-1 defeat to Kendal Town in Northern League Division One.
Freddie O’Donoghue, Trent Chapman and Josh O’Brien were all in Dan Kirkup’s XI at Gillford Park, O’Donoghue substituted in the 69th minute. The trio could again be in action when City host Newcastle Blue Star on Tuesday night.
Also in Northern League Division One, there was a latest Penrith outing for Dan Hopper as Darren Edmondson’s Penrith drew 2-2 at Tow Law Town, while another young Blues loanee, Mason Fleming, was not involved. Luke Hunter and Conor Hammell with the goals. Next up for the Bonny Blues is a Thursday night trip to Easington Colliery before a home clash with Blyth Town on Saturday.
A number of ex-Blues were in the thick of the weekend action, meanwhile.
In League One, Jon Mellish played the full game at left-back as Wigan Athletic lost 2-1 to Reading – a result that triggered the departure of Latics boss Shaun Maloney.
Macaulay Gillesphey triggered a dramatic win for Charlton Athletic with an injury-time equaliser at Leyton Orient – the Addicks then grabbing another to win 2-1.
Jack Stretton made his Burton Albion debut as a sub in their 1-1 draw with Mansfield Town, joining the Brewers’ fellow ex-Blues Max Crocombe and Jack Armer on the pitch.
Owen Moxon came off the bench in Stockport County’s 2-1 win over Blackpool, with Oliver Norwood a starter and Sam Cosgrove another sub for the Hatters.
In League Two, Kristian Dennis opened the scoring for Tranmere Rovers, as the hosts pounced on a mistake from Port Vale keeper Ben Amos (watch below) before the visitors pegged the managerless Wirral side back to a 1-1 draw at Prenton Park.
Jordan Gibson’s assist helped Luke Molyneux score in a 3-0 win for Doncaster Rovers against Newport County.
Paul Huntington came off the bench as Bradford City claimed a late 2-1 win at Salford City.
National League South saw Angelo Balanta on target for Hornchurch in their 3-3 draw at Weymouth.
North of the border, Jack Iredale fired home in impressive style to claim the winner for Hibernian in their 2-1 derby victory over Heart of Midlothian.
Overseas, Tomas Holy’s return to competitive action for Czech third-tier side FK Banik Most-sous saw a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Chlumec nad Cidlinou.
And in Australia’s A-League, Zach Clough converted two penalties in Adelaide United’s 4-4 draw at Auckland FC.
