Liverpool will be without four players as it takes on PSG in the Champions League this week with Arne Slot and his players set to travel to Paris. The Reds are hoping to bring back a positive result in the last-16 first-leg tie.

Defensive duo Joe Gomez and Conor Bradley are both sidelined at the moment. Gomez could miss the majority of the rest of the season through a hamstring problem. He has had successful surgery.

Bradley, meanwhile, will be out for a few weeks. There is no exact timeline places on his recovery from a muscle issue yet but Trent Alexander-Arnold will need to play almost all of the minutes in the meantime.

Tyler Morton is out with a shoulder injury at the moment while young Liverpool defender Amara Nallo, who would have been unlikely to be involved against PSG anyway, is suspended having been sent off on his debut. He saw red against PSV on matchday eight of the group phase just minutes after he entered the field as a substitute.

"Do we fear PSG? We don’t fear anybody," Slot said when previewing the game. "But I am impressed by their quality. They are on an upward curve a bit similar to ours at the moment.

"I don’t think the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, Real Madrid, these kind of clubs don’t fear opponents. But we definitely respect them and there’s a reason for that, and that’s what you just said — that they won so many games in a row and they have so many quality players.

"I think it’s going to be a very interesting game for everybody who loves football. I would be surprised if people who are neutral watch a different game than that one because I think everyone including Paris Saint-Germain and us — are looking forward to the game."

Liverpool.com says: The game with PSG will be an interesting one. The Ligue 1 side will provide a test for Liverpool but the Reds are the favorites to go through in the tie. Having the second leg at Anfield is an advantage and you would fancy Mohamed Salah and co to score in the away leg and bring back at least a draw from the Parc de Princes.

If Liverpool can get past PSG then it should be eyeing a run all the way to the final. It would face Aston Villa or Club Brugge next and then possibly Real Madrid or Arsenal in the semi-finals. Real Madrid is the one team that can compete with Liverpool when it comes to the odds of going all the way and winning another trophy in Munich.
