2024-25 NBA MVP odds: SGA favored over Jokić in two-man race - chof 360 news

The NBA season is headed for season's end, which means it's time to dive deeper into the regular-season MVP market.

As the winner of the NBA's most coveted award in three of the last four seasons, Nikola Jokić will look to make history by winning four out of five.

Celtics legend Bill Russell won four out of five from 1960-61 to 1964-65, and LeBron James did the same between 2008-09 and 2012-13.

Those are the only two names to accomplish the feat in league history.

Jokić opened the season at +400 to win the award, and currently, he is top-four in the league in points, rebounds and assists.

Let's take a look at the NBA MVP odds at DraftKings Sportsbook as of March 3.

2024-25 NBA MVP odds:

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: -500 (bet $10 to win $12 total)
Nikola Jokić: +320 (bet $10 to win $42 total)

The NBA MVP race is a two-man one, with one man firmly in the lead.

As of March 3, the reigning MVP Jokić is averaging 28.9 points (third), 12.7 rebounds (third) and 10.4 assists (second), while shooting 57.8% from the field (10th) and 44.3% from beyond the arc (fifth).

However, despite those gaudy numbers, he's not the favorite. Gilgeous-Alexander is now in the driver's seat.

As of March 3, SGA's Thunder are 49-11 on the year, the second-best record in the NBA.

Gilgeous-Alexander is first in the league in points per game (32.3) and second in steals (1.8).
