OWEN Dale has been praised for the mentality and personality he has shown after netting his first goal for loan club Wigan Athletic.

He scored his first goal for the Latics when he doubled their lead shortly before half-time at home to Huddersfield Town, arriving at the back post on the left-hand side to fire in a left-footed effort.

“If anything, I want more. That first half, we could’ve had two or three. We were that good. I wanted that game to be dead, and after 50 minutes, it definitely was not dead.
“But that first half, I think you saw tactically no different. This is what we’ve been doing all season.
“There are certain things we’re trying. With the players that we have now since January, I think the more time that they get on the pitch together, you’ll see a good team.
“The performances have been good at times, but tonight we had a real clinical edge.”
