After avoiding defeat against Everton on the weekend, Manchester United will be looking to build on their second-half performance and pick up a much-needed three points when Ipswich Town visit tonight.

Two down at half-time at Goodison, United looked well-beaten against Everton in their last Premier League outing but goals from Bruno Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte rescued a point for Ruben Amorim's side on Merseyside, with the result leaving United 15th, only ahead of West Ham on goal difference. United have won just two of their last 10 league games, but Ipswich are in even worse form, with victory against the relegation-battlers vital for Amorim's side tonight.

The points were shared in the meeting between the two sides earlier this season in a 1-1 draw at Portman Road in Amorim's first game as United boss. None of United's sidelined players are expected to return for the clash later today.

Man United vs Ipswich Town score predicted

To complete this simulation, we used EA FC 25 and updated the squads with the latest injuries and suspensions.

We predict that United could set up in a 3-4-2-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Onana; De Ligt, Maguire, Mazraoui; Dalot, Ugarte, Eriksen, Dorgu; Zirkzee, Fernandes; Hojlund.

We predict that Ipswich could line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their starting XI as follows: Palmer; Tuanzebe, O'Shea, Greaves, Davis; Morsy, Taylor; Philogene, Hutchinson, Clarke; Delap.

Ipswich caused all sorts of problems in the first half for United, with Liam Delap making himself a nuisance and having a few shots on goal, but Andre Onana was on top form to keep the visitors at bay and maintain a clean sheet going into half-time. Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee were both struggling to get into the game once again, with United struggling to create any big chances.

A glorious chance did fall the way of Zirkzee in the 56th minute when he intercepted Axel Tuanzebe's back pass on the edge of the box, but the Dutchman rushed his shot and keeper Palmer smothered the striker's effort. Amorim's side started to grow into the game as it went on, and in the 81st minute broke the deadlock.

Diogo Dalot and substitute Alejandro Garnacho linked up on the right to push United forward, with the latter managing to beat his marker and surge towards goal. Anticipating a cross, Patrick Dorgu entered the box and met Garnacho's centre with a delicate header into the bottom corner to make it 1-0.

Despite their attacking troubles, United were impressive at the back, with Amorim's side holding out for a narrow victory at Old Trafford.
