England will look for back-to-back victories in Qatar when they meet the United States in their second Group B game on Friday night.
The 29-year-old went down clutching his right foot in pain after being caught out by a poor Morteza Pouraliganji challenge shortly after the break in Monday’s 6-2 Group B win against Iran.
Kane played on until the 75th minute, but was seen leaving England’s World Cup with a mild limp and his right ankle slightly bound.
The Football Association remained tight-lipped about Kane’s condition on Tuesday, but it is clear the striker had to undergo a scan ahead of Friday’s game against the US.
Teammates are optimistic that Kane will be fine and Pickford allayed concerns during a speech at the Al Wakrah Sports Complex base on Wednesday.
“I think he’s good, probably just a little sore,” said the Three Lions goalkeeper.
“I’m sure he’s fine, he was on the grass with us today and that’s good. He’s our captain.”
ITV will cover the Group B match between England and the USA from 6.05pm. The match starts at 7:00 PM. It will be the final of Friday’s games, with Wales v Iran kicking off at 10 a.m., while Qatar plays Senegal and the Netherlands take on Ecuador.
ITV Hub will stream the match with the service available on desktop and as an app on mobiles and tablets.
