Uruguay 0-0 South Korea LIVE! World Cup 2022 match stream, latest score and goal updates today

The World Cup matches continue as Group H kicks off in Al Rayyan this afternoon. Uruguay and South Korea at the Education City Stadium, two-time title winners who are expected to make deep runs with a well-balanced squad full of talent including the likes of Darwin Nunez and Federico Valverde as well as aging heads such as Luis Suarez, who starts the day with Manchester United’s Facundo Pellestri.

South Korea will be relieved that captain and student Heung-min Son is fit to play from outside the tournament this tournament after requiring surgery on a facial fracture he suffered in the Champions League with Tottenham. He will wear a protective mask as Paulo Bento’s side aim for a positive start in what is a very difficult group on paper.

South Korea has not qualified for the knockout rounds since 2010, while Uruguay reached the quarter-finals in Russia four years ago before being knocked out by World Cup champions France. Follow the game below with the Standard Sport live blog!

68 minutes: The other match in Group H between Portugal and Ghana kicks off at 4pm GMT this afternoon, shortly after this match ended.

66 minutes: It was rather bad for centre-back Kim Min-jae, who sprained his ankle sliding on the turf at Education City Stadium.

Applause from his country’s fans as he stands on his feet. Paulo Bento has yet to make a change in the South Korean dugout.


63 minutes: Liverpool star Nunez pulls himself away with some nice movement down the left but ignores options in the middle and leaves limited space from the sharp corner. Kim equals it and clear korea.

By the way, Suarez is the man Cavani replaced.


61 minutes: It was only a matter of time until one of the managers made a change… the biggest name on Uruguay’s bench stripped and ready.

60 minutes: Uruguay is just beginning to pick things up, as they did at this point in the first half, as their passing game began.

57 minutes: There is little concern for South Korea here, as Son is receiving treatment. There are some worrying faces in the crowd, as Caceres received a yellow card for this tackle.

The son got back on his feet, adjusting his shoes. should be fine.


56 minutes: Korea got its blocks, with Bentancourt denied range.

Suarez then contemplates an acrobatic effort, before Pelistri runs out of the room on the right flank. A little choppy in attack from Uruguay.


53 minutes: Rochette punched in a corner kick for Son, with half-hearted pleas to South Korea which were deflected by the referee.

Then with Bentancourt some pretty ballet midfield to spin away from the press.


51 minutes: Another excellent defensive piece from Jimenez. Son drops his shoulder and dart into the box and looks like he’s about to pull the trigger when Gimenez dives in and wins it cleanly.

48 minutes: Korean fans really can’t contain their excitement when Son kicks the ball. Unfortunately for them, he was not particularly expelled after Cáceres dispossessed him of his property at the time.

Jimenez also won the ball in physical fashion, with Uruguay’s defensive resilience displaying today.
