Several major European clubs are believed to be interested in signing England midfielder Judd Bellingham after two stellar seasons at Borussia Dortmund.
Chelsea are said to be interested in signing England international Judd Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund next summer.
Bellingham, 19, is considered one of the best young players in Europe after an amazing start to his career. The midfielder recently appeared in his 100th match for Dortmund and excelled in the Bundesliga and Champions League, winning the German Football League title.
The former youngster from Birmingham City was part of Gareth Southgate’s squad for Euro 2020 and is expected to play a big role in this year’s World Cup in Qatar, which kicks off in November. He has made 17 caps for England after making his debut at just 17 years of age.
Several clubs – including Liverpool and Real Madrid – are believed to be interested in signing Bellingham, should he decide to leave Dortmund next summer. The midfielder is rated at £130m and still has three years left on his current deal.
As reported by The Telegraph, Chelsea are trying to catch up in the race to sign Bellingham. It is believed that Blues boss Todd Boyle and his fellow owners have contacted the player’s agent in an attempt to persuade him to come to Stamford Bridge.
Boehly is currently in charge of the transfer business at Chelsea. He allegedly believes there is still enough time for them to lure Bellingham to London and is unconcerned about the working hours Real and Liverpool have already put into the move.

Bellingham is said to prefer a move to Real or Liverpool, the two teams that competed in last season’s Champions League final in Paris. Both Europeans would like to sign the English player due to their need for a midfielder.
Real Madrid duo Luka Modric, 37, and Toni Kroos, 32, are nearing the end of their illustrious careers – both winning five Champions League titles – and the same can be said of Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson, 32, and Thiago Alcantara, 31 General, James. Milner, 36.
Real have already begun planning for the future, signing young midfielders Eduardo Camavinga, 19, and Aurelien Chuamini, 22, in the final windows. Meanwhile, Liverpool have the likes of Curtis Jones, 21, and Harvey Elliott, 19, among the ranks.
Chelsea are said to be aware that Real and Liverpool are in the lead in the race for Bellingham’s signature, but that hasn’t stopped Boehle. It is fair to assume that the Blues have a bigger transfer budget than Real Madrid and Liverpool, which could allow them to come out on top.
No club in Europe has spent more in the summer than Chelsea, who have invested nearly £300m in their squad. The list of contracts included Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Raheem Sterling, Wesley Fofana, Marc Cucurella, Kalidou Coulibaly and Karne Chokwimica.
Boehley is believed to be determined to sign at least one highly-rated young midfielder next summer, with former academy star Declan Rice also on the transfer shortlist. The 23-year-old West Ham man will receive a transfer fee of more than £100m.
