The latest rumors about the iPhone 14 Pro models suggest that, despite a price hike, the base models will start with 128 GB of storage like iPhone 13 Pro models instead of an increased 256 GB of storage.
The latest leak surrounding the iPhone 14 will sadden Apple fans. According to reports, the iPhone 14 Pro model is unlikely to get a storage boost as previously predicted and is speculated to start at 128GB, just like the iPhone 13. This information is particularly worrisome, as the latest round of leaks have also revealed that the iPhone 14 Pro models may see a 15 percent price increase. And it was because of the price hike that many believed more storage space would be added. But does this make the iPhone 14 Pro a deal breaker? iPhone 14 Pro may not get a storage boost
It all started when Taiwanese research firm TrendForce predicted in June that iPhone 14 Pro models could launch with 256GB storage capacity. A few days ago, popular Apple tipster Ming-Chi Kuo said in a tweet that the iPhone 14 Pro could see a 15 percent price increase. However, the trade-off seemed reasonable at the time, as consumers also got a higher storage space for the higher price. Today, however, Haitong International analyst Jeff Pu has claimed that the iPhone 14 Pro will likely start with 128GB of storage, just like the iPhone 13 Pro.
According to a MacRumors report, Pu previously believed that a 256GB starting storage for the iPhone 14 Pro models was a possibility, but in his latest research notes he also included the 128GB storage variant. He said: “Based on our recent supply chain survey, we maintain our iPhone 14 build plan at 91 million in 2H22, versus iPhone 13’s 84 million in 2H21, as there is no significant supply chain problem. Next to look at look are the prices of iPhone 14 and the wait time when it comes to market. Specifically, we are adding 128 GB of storage to the Pro lineup”.Read:Microsoft has issued a major update to the Xbox DRM
However, it’s too early to say if it could be a deal breaker or not. According to various leaks and rumors circulating, the iPhone 14 Pro is likely to come with some significant improvements. They include the pill and hole cutouts that replace the notch, the advanced A16 chipset, a larger 48MP rear camera and always-on display support. Given all the speculated upgrades, the iPhone 14 Pro may still be worth its price.
