There is no event in the United States bigger than the Super Bowl. This year's championship game will feature the Philadelphia Eagles taking on the Kansas City Chiefs from the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. Super Bowl LIX is expected to be watched by millions of people, including many in Vancouver. In honour of the event, we take a look at the Vancouver Canucks roster and try to determine which players best match some NFL positions.

Quinn Hughes- Quarterback
Quinn Hughes is an easy choice as a quarterback. He constantly escapes pressure and can deliver passes that only a few others can in the NHL. He is also the most valuable player on the team, which is often associated with quarterbacks in the NFL.
Kiefer Sherwood- Running Back
Kiefer Sherwood has many qualities an NFL running back needs to be successful. He is quick, reliable and one of the most physical players in the league. Listed at 6'0", 194 lbs, Sherwood could create some chaos by either running or receiving the ball.
Drew O'Connor- Wide Receiver
Drew O'Connor's speed is one of the reasons he would make a fantastic wide receiver. He plays a straightforward game and, at 6'4", has the height needed to haul in catches above defensive backs. Ultimately, O'Connor would be a threat both from distance and in the red zone.
Tyler Myers- Full Back
It would be very intimidating to see Tyler Myers lined up in the backfield. Listed at 6'8", 229 lbs, Myers could easily clear lanes and throw some massive hits like he does in the NHL. Myers could also be used in jumbo packages, which is fitting considering his size.

Filip Hronek- Tight End
Filip Hronek has all the makings of a solid tight end. He has shown he can protect the front of the net while also engaging from the blue line to find open space to collect passes. Making Hronek a tight end also allows him to be physical, as he would be tasked with throwing hits on linebackers and defensive backs when a sweep is called.
Dakota Joshua- Middle Linebacker
Throughout his career with the Canucks, Dakota Joshua has been a hitting machine. He is already up to 100 hits this season, which, if converted to tackles, would rank tied for 53rd in the NFL. At 6'3", 206 lbs, Joshua could do some damage in the middle of a defence.
Pius Suter & Teddy Blueger- Defensive Backs
Pius Suter and Teddy Blueger are already a dynamic duo on the penalty kill, so why wouldn't they be able to replicate that success as defensive backs in the NFL? Both Suter and Blueger have some speed to their game and have shown they can shut down some of the best in the league. They also don't mind chirping the opposition, which is crucial when going head-to-head against wide receivers in the NFL.
