Raphael Varane shares impressive stats for France - Man United news and transfer news

Last night, France was in a match against Austria in the Nations League and beat them 2-0.

It was Kylian Mbappe and Olivier Giroud who scored, but Manchester United’s Raphael Varane made a change, playing the full 90 minutes for Didier Deschamps.

Varane played a good game and was decisive in the success of his country, as the statistics show, he was solid in defence, he made four passes, and helped defend his clean sheets.

Varane had a difficult task on his hands as he was tasked with cutting any chances for the in-form Marko Arnautovic to move forward.

As such, Arnautovic was substituted about sixty minutes later after failing to make any impact.

Varane’s pass accuracy was also impressive, with 59 passes completed with an accuracy of 92%.

Meanwhile, he completed 100% of his long balls because he chose his teammates perfectly and fired them to attack.

He had 73 touches and won all three of his air duels.

It was a meeting that saw the United defender come face to face with former coach Ralf Rangnick as he now runs Austria.

France needed to win because defeat would have brought them down. It will face Denmark on Sunday in the final of Group A.

In the meantime, United hope Varane remains fit and healthy after coming out of the international break, as he is likely to be called up for the Manchester derby the following week.
