Oppo Reno 9 launches already! Flagship Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip this time

Oppo Reno 9 is launching in China with three models in the pipeline. Reno 9 Pro+ has Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.

It has been a few months since the Oppo Reno 8 series was dropped in India and the Reno 9 series has already been announced in China. The Reno 9 series has three models in the pipeline, consisting of Reno 9, Reno 9 Pro, and Reno 9 Pro+. Oppo is going upscale with the pro variants of the Reno 9 series in India, which consist of a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and 16GB of RAM on the base variants.

Oppo has not yet announced when the new Reno 9 series models will arrive in India. However, here are all three models that could make their way to India.

The launch of the Oppo Reno 9 series

The Reno 9 and Reno 9 Pro share a lot of features in common, which you’d expect for the chipset they use. The Reno 9 is based on the Snapdragon 778G chip while the Reno 9 Pro uses the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 chip. Both phones feature a 6.7-inch FHD+ 10-bit AMOLED display with curved edges and a 120Hz refresh rate.

For cameras, the Reno 9 features a dual camera setup with a 64MP main sensor and a 2MP black and white sensor. The front camera has a 32MP sensor with autofocus. The Reno 9 Pro has a 50MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and an 8MP wide-angle camera with 112-degree FoV on the back. The 32MP autofocus selfie camera remains unchanged. The Professional version also contains a MariSilicon NPU chip.

The phones rely on a 4,500 mAh battery and support 67W fast charging. They run on ColorOS 13 based on Android 13 out of the box.

On the other hand, the Oppo Reno 9 Pro+ is based on the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip. It uses the same 6.7-inch 120Hz FHD+ display that carries the same 32MP selfie camera. The cameras here vary, with a 50MP main camera with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide camera with a macro camera function, and a third 2MP depth camera.

The phone packs a larger 4,700mAh battery with support for 80W wired charging.
