Nurses vote on strike action over ‘disgraceful’ pay offer | News

Hundreds of thousands of nurses will vote today on a strike that could lead to a strike this winter amid fresh warnings that record numbers are abandoning the profession.

Around 300,000 members of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) are being asked if they want to launch an industrial strike in the first UK-wide union vote.

If successful, it would be the first time in the union’s 106-year history that members in England, Wales and Scotland have withdrawn. Polling lasts for four weeks and ends on November 2.
