Derby County are back in action as they travel to Newport County for an FA Cup second round match on Sunday (3.15pm GMT).
The Rams have been on an extended break by recent standards, with their last game a week ago when Paul Warne’s men earned a valuable point at fellow play-off chasers Portsmouth on Friday after a goalless draw. Derby will not play in League One again until Saturday week, when they host Sheffield Wednesday at Pride Park in another battle with another play-off hopeful.Read:World Cup: England face Wales later today – here’s what each side needs to do to reach the last 16 | UK News
But all eyes are on Sunday’s cup tie with Newport, which was set up when Derby beat non-league Torquay United 5-0 in a replay ten days ago. Newport have struggled in League Two so far this season, with just four points separating them from the relegation zone and just three League wins since the beginning of October.
