Newport vs Derby County TV channel, live stream and how to watch FA Cup tie to day

Derby County are back in action as they travel to Newport County for an FA Cup second round match on Sunday (3.15pm GMT).

The Rams have been on an extended break by recent standards, with their last game a week ago when Paul Warne’s men earned a valuable point at fellow play-off chasers Portsmouth on Friday after a goalless draw. Derby will not play in League One again until Saturday week, when they host Sheffield Wednesday at Pride Park in another battle with another play-off hopeful.

But all eyes are on Sunday’s cup tie with Newport, which was set up when Derby beat non-league Torquay United 5-0 in a replay ten days ago. Newport have struggled in League Two so far this season, with just four points separating them from the relegation zone and just three League wins since the beginning of October.

At stake is a spot in the FA Cup third round and the chance to be drawn against a top Premier League side. While the World Cup is currently the focus, Derby’s FA Cup match will be shown live on television on ITV1 and via the ITVX streaming platform.

Broadcasters around the world will also be showing the match against Croatia vs Canada in Group F of the World Cup. Derby’s match was rescheduled to 3.15pm for television coverage, with Kings Lynn Town vs Stevenage, Forest Green Rovers vs Alvechurch, Wrexham vs Farnborough and Ebbsfleet United vs Fleetwood Town also selected for broadcast.

The third round draw takes place on Monday night at 7pm and the BBC is showing it in full.
