Metropolitan Police officer charged with 44 crimes faces nine more offences including rape | UK News

The Metropolitan Police officer, already charged with 44 offences, was charged with nine more counts, including six counts of rape.

PC David Carrick, 47, an armed officer who served in Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command and worked on Parliament House, now faces a total of 53 charges, including 27 counts of rape.

The new charges include six counts of rape, one count of false imprisonment, one count of indecent assault, and possession of a firearm with intent to create fear of violence.

The Crown Prosecution Service said it concerned a new complainant and allegedly took place in July 2003.

On Thursday, the Crown Prosecution Service said it had authorized Hertfordshire Police to charge Carrick with a further nine offences.

This is in addition to the 44 offenses Carrick has previously been charged with against 12 separate women.

In all, Carrick is now charged with 53 offenses against 13 women between 2003 and 2020, including 27 counts of rape.

Fees include:

• 27 counts of rape
• Nine counts of sexual assault
• Five counts of assault by penetration
• Three counts of compulsive and controlling behavior
• Three counts of false imprisonment
• Two counts of attempted rape
• One count for attempted sexual assault through penetration
• The number of times a person has been caused to engage in sexual activity without their consent
• Charged with indecent assault
• Charged with possession of a firearm with the intent to incite fear of violence

Carrick will make his first court appearance in relation to the new charges on Wednesday 30 November at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.

He is due to face trial for the previous 44 counts on 6 February 2023 at Southwark Crown Court.
