Viewers of The One Show took to social media to criticize the final episode, praising it as a “car crash”, while calling out host Alex Jones for “losing control”.
The episode, which aired Thursday, November 24, featured an interview with Emily Atack, Mel B, and Robbie Wax, who were all on the show to promote their new TV series, Trailblazers: A Rocky Mountain Road Trip. The BBC2 reality documentary will see three women trekking through the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, following the journey of Victorian explorer Isabella Bird.
However, “chaos” ensued when Mel B and Ruby Wax rolled onto the couch in hysterics. Viewers were also left feeling angry at the guests for speaking out on each other.
So was Mel B, who eventually became so frustrated when other stars kept talking to her that she got up to walk out of the interview.
When Robbie commented on the show, “We were behind the American Dream and then it rotted,” Mel replied, “Just like that interview! Don’t forget to tune in to the guys on Monday.” She then got up to leave, before making her sit next to her co-stars.
Social media users were quick to point out Alex Jones’ “lost for words” during the interview, with one saying, “Alex Jones isn’t so much lost for words, but Mel B, Robbie Wax, and Emily Atack completed the #TheOneShow rinse tonight. A mess.”
Another pointed out how Ronan Keating, Alex’s host, caught the laughter and joined in with the guests, writing: “What a spooky spice?! Everyone interrupts and grabs. Poor Robbie and Emily. Ronan Keating laughs watching them.”
Others were dumbfounded by the chaos, with one writing: “WHAT… HAPPENING… THIS IS THE BIGGEST CAR ACCIDENT IN THE INTERVIEW BETWEEN Mel B, Ruby Wax and Emily Attack,” and another said, “Ultimate carnage at #TheOneShow tonight with Ruby Wax.” , and Emily Atack and Mel B. Absolutely hilarious.”
However, some viewers weren’t happy, as one said: “Robbie Wax and Mel B are acting like idiots and making me shut down.”
Alex seemed to be relieved, too, when the interview was finally over and the trio left, quipping: “Oh, it feels a lot quieter in the studio now.”
