Manchester United transfers news LIVE Glazers sale udaptes and Saudi Arabia would ‘support’ bid

The excitement continues to build after The Glazers announced their openness to selling Manchester United and more potential suitors are throwing their hats into the ring.

The Manchester Evening News understands that Amancio Ortega, owner of the Inditex empire that owns fashion chain Zara, is one of those potential suitors.

Ortega, 86, is worth $61.3 billion, according to Forbes, and is understood to have tipped off his interest in United to senior executives. It is also understood that tech giants Apple are exploring a potential takeover possibility.

Meanwhile, the Saudi Minister of Sports, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, revealed that the state will support a private investor from the country if they bid on the ownership of the club.

“We will definitely support it if it exists [Saudi] He said the private sector is entering. Because we know that this will reflect positively on sports in the Kingdom. But if there’s an investor willing to do it and the numbers add up, why not? “
