King Charles III has destroyed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s “ill-considered game plan” by maintaining a wall of silence.
Britain’s new monarch emerges victorious as he “turns a blind eye” by not responding publicly to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s recent bombshells.
More than a week after the Duke’s memoirs hit shelves, both Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace have yet to comment on the allegations Meghan Markle’s husband made in his memoir, Spare.
Some royal fans and commentators see the monarch’s reaction to the Sussexes as a slap in the face to them.
Edward Coram-James, a public relations, reputation and crisis management expert and CEO of Go Up, claimed this shows the royal family had a strong “game plan” and was prepared to deal with such allegations, while explaining Harry and Harry’s strategy. Meghan decried as “ill-conceived”.
“What should the royal family do in response to these allegations? In a word, nothing. They have turned a blind eye. The biggest mistake they could make would be to respond to any of the allegations. To justify their long violate our cherished code of silence,” he told Express UK.
“Breaking that silence will imply guilt. Being silent gives a sense of maturity and staying above the fray. The Royal Family have had a game plan and, unlike the Sussexes, whose game plan has seemed ill-conceived and often gone astray, the Royal Family have followed the whole line,” he continued.
Coram-James continued: “The Royal Family know it will all blow over soon enough, as the news cycle continues and today’s news becomes old-fashioned. They will be deeply relieved that no fatal allegations have been made, and may feel that Harry’s revelations were nowhere near as devastating as they inevitably prepared for.”
“The Royal Family will look forward to King Charles’s coronation knowing that they may have suffered a light bruise, but they never came close to receiving knockout blows,” said Coram-James.
