The Cowboys may have drawn first blood against the Boise State Broncos last Saturday, but it was Boise State who had the last laugh. Wyoming fell in a 20-17 heartbreaker. A silver lining for them was the play of RB Titus Swen, who rushed for one touchdown and 212 yards on 19 carries. That touchdown—an 83-yard rush in the third quarter—was one of the highlights of the game.

Meanwhile, everything went Fresno State’s way last Saturday against the Nevada Wolf Pack as they left with a 41-14 victory. With the Bulldogs leading 24 to none at the half, the game was all but over. They can attribute much of their success to QB Jake Haener, who passed for two TDs and 361 yards on 42 attempts in addition to two rushing touchdowns, and RB Jordan Mims, who rushed for one TD and 156 yards on 19 carries. Mims’ longest run was 82 yards in the fourth quarter.

The Cowboys are the clear underdogs, so they hope it’s the size of the fight that determines it. However, those who like to bet on the underdog should be happy to learn that they are 4-1 against the spread when they are expected to lose.

Wyoming and the Bulldogs are now tied at 7-4. A few defensive numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: Wyoming ranks 20th in the nation in sacks, with 31 on the season. As for Fresno State, they come into the matchup with the 21st fewest passing touchdowns allowed in the nation at 13.
