Stocks are wavering as Wall Street stays cautious in the wake of an intensified trade war. Defensive sectors are getting a boost.
The Dow was up 0.1%, but the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq were down 0.1% and 0.4%, respectively.
The mood in the market was one of caution, as evidenced by broad losses seen in ETFs that typically pack in high-risk, high-reward stocks. For example, the Invesco S&P 500 High Beta, Invesco S&P 500 Pure Growth and ARK Innovation ETF were all down more than 1%.
