Fans fear BBC Strictly legend could be ‘leaving’ show after Janette Manrara announcement on It Takes Two

Come Dancing viewers were concerned because Janet Manara welcomed a special guest on the couch to the It Takes Two spin-off. Former strict pro Janet made a stellar introduction as her friend Karen Hauer joined her on BBC Two.

Janet introduced her boyfriend, the longest-serving professional BBC competition dancer, launching It Takes Two Strictly Pro Challenge. The challenge invites the show’s professionals to set a new Guinness World Record for the most number of dance steps in 30 seconds.

“First to take on the challenge is the currently longest serving stern pro, World Mambo Champion and former Pro Challenge winner,” announced Janet. When Karen came out Janet leaned in and declared, “Strictly royal over there.” “I’m like an animated antiques show,” Karen jokes.

But the presenter was alarmed by @Ariadne_Reviews’ comment, which tweeted: “The continued focus on Karen being the current longest-serving professional at Strictly gives me great vibes.” And @ShanghaiHannah replied, “Like in the first episode of Bake Off every year when they give one contestant more time than the rest, you know they’re for the chop.”

@monsterofcoffee’s response: “No no no no no no”. And FutterAndy exclaimed: “Noooo. I love Karen.” Karen joined Strictly Come Dancing as a professional dancer in Series 10 in 2012, partnering Westlife singer Nicky Byrne. They made it to the quarterfinals in week 10, before losing on the dance floor to Denise Van Outen and her partner James Jordan.

In the twentieth series this year, she is partnered with comedian Jade Adams. The pair were eliminated in the fourth week after losing the dance to Molly Rainsford and Carlos Joe.

In 30 seconds, Karen completed 23 steps, supervised by judge Craig Revell Horwood. She was challenged to perform the most kicking steps in Charleston in 30 seconds.

But she was in for an unwelcome surprise as she was told that they were all eliminated. “I can’t believe that happened?” Janet cried.

Karen jokingly threw up her heels in protest, joking, “I’d like to talk to Al-Manayer now.” And I asked: “Why was that?”
