Corpses left in the street as Russian missiles hammer Kherson

James Cleverly announced a package of “hands-on” support to help Ukraine through the winter while visiting the war-torn country.

The foreign minister was scheduled to meet President Volodymyr Zelensky during his visit, which comes days after Prime Minister Rishi Sunak traveled to Kyiv.

Cleverly announced practical support for Ukraine’s power grid and other critical infrastructure that has been bombarded by Russian strikes, causing blackouts and leaving millions without heat, electricity or water as temperatures plummet.

The UK will send another 35 emergency vehicles, including 24 ambulances and six armored vehicles, to the country.

The Foreign Secretary also announced an additional £3m to rebuild local infrastructure including schools and shelters, as well as additional funding to support survivors of sexual assault.

“As winter sets in, Russia continues to try to break the Ukrainian resolve through its brutal attacks on civilians, hospitals and energy infrastructure. Russia will fail,” said Mr. Cleverly.
