The bowling club is on fire as firefighters continue to fight the blaze.
A fire broke out at the Claremont Bowling Club in Milngavi just before 7am on Friday.
Emergency services have urged local residents to ensure they close their doors and windows due to the smoke in the atmosphere – particularly east of the sports green.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent six engines to the scene at Claremont Gardens.
A spokesperson confirmed at 9:30 am that there were no injuries.
Police said an investigation will be launched into how the fire started.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7am on Friday, 25 November 2022, police were called to the Claremont Drive area of Melngavie, after a fire was reported at the local bowling club.
Emergency services are still in the area and inquiries will be carried out to determine the cause of the fire. There were no reports of injuries.
“At this time, local residents are asked to ensure all windows and doors remain closed, due to smoke in the atmosphere, particularly towards Ellangown Road.”
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were alerted at 7.14am on Friday, 25 November, to reports of a fire in a building in Claremont Gardens, Milngavie.
The Operations Department has mobilized a total of six firefighters and crew is still in attendance.
No injuries were reported.
