With its Champions League duties done until March, Liverpool turn its focus back to the Premier League title race with a huge game lying in wait this weekend.
A final league phase defeat to PSV Eindhoven wasn't enough to stop the Reds from finishing top of the standings, and with no play-off to worry about for the last-16, Arne Slot's men can give their title charge their full attention over the next month or so. This weekend could be a big one, with Liverpool heading to in-form Bournemouth on Saturday while Arsenal hosts Manchester City on Sunday.
Slot has clearly had the weekend in mind for some time, having left 12 players back on Merseyside for Wednesday's clash with PSV. Nine of those were out of choice, with the other three absences being forced upon him through injury - and another concern emerged while out in the Netherlands.

Here is the latest situation on the injury front, with Liverpool facing four doubts ahead of the trip to Bournemouth...
Darwin Nunez
Despite flying out with Liverpool to Eindhoven on Tuesday, Darwin Nunez was forced to return home early through illness. Had the problem not arisen, he likely would have started at the Philips Stadium alongside Cody Gakpo and Federico Chiesa.
No word has yet been given on whether Nunez will be able to return for Saturday's game at Bournemouth, with a decision likely to be made in training tomorrow. You'd imagine the Uruguayan shouldn't be out for long, though, and hopefully, his illness doesn't spread around the camp.
Possible return date: February 1 vs Bournemouth
Joe Gomez
Joe Gomez was a surprise participant in training on Tuesday ahead of the clash with PSV. Having been out since limping off at West Ham, Wednesday's game came too soon for him to make his return, although it looks as though he may be closer to making a comeback than many had expected him to be.
Bournemouth may also prove to be too soon for him, although hopefully, he isn't too far off being back in proper action.
Possible return date: Unknown
Curtis Jones
Slot did suggest last week that Curtis Jones might not be absent for too long. The midfielder was forced off at half-time against Lille, with the Liverpool boss saying he would be looked at in preparation for PSV and Bournemouth.
He wasn't involved in training before Wednesday's game though, which puts serious doubt on his involvement at the weekend. If he can return to training tomorrow, there is perhaps a chance he could feature at Bournemouth, although he won't be risked if there is any concern over his fitness.
Possible return date: February 1 vs Bournemouth
Diogo Jota
Diogo Jota was considered to be closer to a return to action than Gomez when Slot spoke about the pair last week, which made the latter's appearance in training on Tuesday all the more surprising.
Jota wasn't involved in the session along with his teammates, although he was pictured at the AXA Training Centre that same day, suggesting that his recovery is going well. In any case, Slot has already indicated that his return would be weeks rather than months, so hopefully, he isn't too far off.
Bournemouth this weekend is almost certainly not possible for the Portuguese, and we may have to look a bit further into February for a potential return to action.
