A Year 12 student at Bolton School Boys’ Division is proving a rising star in motorsport.

Youngster Charlie continues to develop his career at the GT4 Winter Series, winning his first race in this ultra-competitive category.

Charlie enjoyed a standout weekend in Portimão for the second round of the GT4 Winter Series.

After two days of testing, where he and team-mate Callum consistently demonstrated their pace around the Algarve circuit, Charlie secured pole position for his sprint race, setting the stage for a strong performance.

Lining up on the front row, Charlie delivered a determined drive, battling at the sharp end of the field throughout the race.

Despite his relentless efforts to secure a podium finish, he lost a position to last year’s champion and was handed a track limits penalty, ultimately dropping his number 812 car to fifth.

Though the result was not what he had hoped for, his performance reaffirmed his ability to compete at the highest level.

Unfazed by the earlier setback, Charlie turned his focus to the Pit Stop race, where he and his team-mate started from fourth on the grid.

The duo delivered an exceptional performance, executing a flawless strategy and displaying remarkable pace.

Their efforts culminated in a dominant victory, crossing the finish line with an 11-second lead - securing both Charlie and Callum’s first GT4 win in the McLaren Artura GT4.

The weekend in Portimão marked a significant milestone for Charlie, demonstrating his growing confidence and skill behind the wheel.

With his first GT4 victory now under his belt, Charlie has firmly established himself as a driver to watch in the championship.
