Liverpool is reportedly among the clubs interested in signing RB Leipzig center-back Castello Lukeba, who is eyeing a move to a top club this summer.

German outlet Sport Bild, via Metro Sport, reports that Lukeba's performances for club and country have caught the attention of the world's biggest teams, with Liverpool among them.

The 22-year-old joined Leipzig from French outfit Lyon in 2023 and has established himself as one of the German club's first-choice center-backs over the last year and a half.

It is reported that Lukeba hopes that his release clause will be activated this summer, but that release clause apparently stands at $93million, which makes that unlikely.

Lukeba has also missed a number of games due to hamstring problems this season, and Liverpool would no doubt be wary of adding another defender to the squad who has a questionable injury record, considering Joe Gomez and Ibrahima Konate having missed chunks of this campaign.

The Reds could be in the market for a new center-back this summer if Virgil van Dijk does not sign a contract extension, with the Dutchman's current deal due to expire at the end of June.

Meanwhile, TEAMtalk reports that Liverpool is seriously considering swooping for Nice winger Mohamed-Ali Cho during the summer transfer window. The 21-year-old has registered eight direct goal contributions in 25 Ligue 1 appearances this season, scoring five times and recording three assists.

Cho actually spent five years of his youth career at Everton between 2015 and 2020 but did not make an appearance for the Toffees' first-team, instead beginning his senior career with Angers.

It is claimed that the Reds are on the look-out for players who they think could develop into world-class stars in the future, and that Cho is in that category.

Similarly with the the center-back position, Liverpool could be in the market for a new winger if Mohamed Salah leaves when his current contract expires at the end of the campaign.
