Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney will resume his punditry career this evening as part of Amazon Prime Video's live coverage of Manchester City vs Real Madrid in the Champions League.
Rooney is currently out of work after leaving Plymouth at the end of last year after he picked up just five wins from 25 games. His departure followed his short spell at Birmingham City last season.
On Tuesday, Rooney will return to punditry with Amazon for the first-time since his departure from Holmes Park. The 39-year-old has appeared on The Overlap's 'Stick to Football' podcast but hasn't been part of a punditry team since the European Championship in Germany.

Reports state that Amazon face a fight to keep Rooney on their books long-term with Sky Sports and TNT Sports fighting for his services. The BBC are also keen to add him to their punditry team for their new-look Match of the Day line-up next season.
The former United striker continues to be linked with vacant manager positions in football but he has continued to dip back into the punditry world. A similar pathway of Gary Neville and Roy Keane, who have become mainstream profiles in the industry, chose punditry after spells in management.
Ahead of his appearance at the Etihad Stadium, MEN Sport has taken a look at his net worth..
What is Wayne Rooney's net worth?
Rooney's financial power post-playing has meant he remains a marketable star. His four stints in management at Derby County, DC United, Birmingham and Plymouth haven't offered the most lucrative contracts but it has helped.
Big-money endorsement deals with Coca-Cola, EA Sports and Nike during his playing days were key and he continues to be an ambassador with a number of global brands.
Figures online show that Rooney earned a whopping £250,000-per-week at United, with a figure closer to £300,000-per-week touted when image rights were considered. Now, it's reported he is worth around £170million. Combined with wife Coleen's net worth, the pair are said to be worth in excess of £200m.
When he moved back to Everton, he earned around £150,000-per-week. Before Paul Pogba's return to United in 2016, Rooney was understood to be the highest-paid player in the Premier League.
As DC United's Designated Player, Rooney earned $3.5m (£2.6m) before earning a similar figure at Derby County. When he moved to the Blues in 2023, it's reported his wages were close to the £29,000-per-week mark
At Plymouth, it was stated he was earning close to £500,000-per-year. Of course, he wasn't there for a year so didn't earn that much.
