Warren Gatland has left his role as Wales head coach midway through the Six Nations, with an interim to be put in place for the remainder of the Championship.

Telegraph Sport understands that staff were informed of Gatland’s departure on Tuesday morning, with an announcement expected to be made by the Welsh Rugby Union at lunchtime.
