Marseille head coach Roberto De Zerbi has claimed that former Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood frustrates him with one part of his game - despite hitting the ground running in France.

Greenwood has scored 13 goals in 21 Ligue appearances for Les Phoceens since his £26.6million move from United in the summer. His permanent exit came after a loan spell in La Liga with Getafe.

The 23-year-old was suspended by the Red Devils in 2022 after being charged with one count of attempted rape, one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and one count of controlling and coercive behaviour. He denied all of the above and the charges were dropped, though he was handed no route back into the United team.

Greenwood has adjusted to life in France rather well and has been compared to Didier Drogba. The striker matched the ex-Chelsea star's impressive record of scoring 13 goals in 20 appearances earlier in the season with Marseille second in the league.

Since the turn of the year, Greenwood has scored three goals and assisted another two in six games. However, following Sunday's 2-0 win at Angers on Sunday, the former United forward has been criticised for one area of his game.

Surprisingly, that area is his corner-taking. "Greenwood is not a specialist on corners," De Zerbi told the media after the win. "He could become one, but he is focused on the goal. When he goes to take a corner, he goes a bit like... And that annoys me."

Fortunately, Greenwood isn't renowned for his corner-taking ability, instead, his goals have helped Marseille to second and on course to a return to the Champions League next season.
