YORK City currently hold a record which has not been changed since 1934.

As York prepare for their National League match against Neal Ardley's Woking on Saturday at the LNER Community Stadium (3pm), preparations continue for Adam Hinshelwood's side to achieve back-to-back victories at home for the first time this year.

City won that match last Saturday 2-1 against Dagenham & Redbridge, as Tyrese Sinclair's opener was cancelled out by Josh Umerah, before Alex Hunt stepped up to tuck home a penalty in stoppage-time.

It's a scoreline which the Minstermen have history with, having won 2-1 three times already this season - also against FC Halifax Town and Braintree Town in the earlier stages of the campaign, whilst only celebrating 2-1 victories just four times in the league last season, under the returning Ardley.

But it's a scoreline that York once had a hiatus from.

In fact, from 1931 to 1934, City went 128 matches between their last 2-1 victory to their next 2-1 victory.

No club in history has ever gone for a longer spell between playing two league matches with the same result, with their spell lasting over three years.

It compares to Burton Swifts, who went 186 matches from 1894 to 1900 between 1-0 victories, whilst Small Heath, who would later go on to become Birmingham City, went 324 matches and just nine years between 12-0 victories.
