SOME games are hard to watch and after the highs of the last few years Albion fans want more success.
The European adventure was truly wonderful and memories were made which will last a lifetime.
Marseille, Amsterdam and Rome were all, by all accounts, fantastic trips.
A 7-0 drubbing by Forest, hardly established Premier League giants, was a far cry from that.
It was not good enough, like the players admitted.
But shouldn’t we all calm down a little?
It was only back in November that Albion fans far and wide were paying tribute to John Prescott.
The former Labour deputy prime minister died aged 86 following a battle with Alzheimer’s.
The reason to mention Mr Prescott now is that it was also not that long ago, in the grand scheme of things, that he was helping to rubber stamp the Amex stadium and get approval for it.
We know the story, how the Goldstone was lost and Albion were pretty much homeless, playing at Gillingham and Withdean. It was only 14 years ago that the Amex was first used and the team gradually climbed the tables to the current heady heights of the Premier League.
In the grand scheme of things Brighton are still enjoying their best decade in history. Don’t panic.
