GARY Rowett was pleased with the impact Ole Romeny had as Oxford United fell the wrong side of a five-goal thriller at home against Coventry City.
Romeny opened his account for the U’s with the first equaliser, side-footing home from eight yards after Przemyslaw Placheta raced away down the right-hand side.
The forward played in a central role behind Mark Harris up front, and linked up play nicely with those around him.
Just after the hour mark, Romeny had the chance to make it a brace when he charged down the right channel, only to be denied by a smart save from Sky Blues goalkeeper Oliver Dovin.

United head coach Rowett said: “I thought he looked bright and connected the game well for us. I thought he got into some really good areas, and he had another good chance where the keeper makes a fantastic save from him.
“His first goal will do him no harm, and he showed some very good creative moments in the game.”
Asked about the link-up between Romeny and Harris, Rowett replied: “He’s [Harris] ended up with probably more of a natural striker-cum-10 in Ole.
“We had some good moments there early on in the games when I took over. I think we’ve come off it in terms of creativity and creating chances certainly in the last three or four, and it was quite nice to get back on it a little bit more and look a little bit more dangerous, and create more chances. I definitely felt it had an added bonus for us.”
