When Jurgen Klopp left Liverpool, no one could have imagined that things would go quite as smoothly as they have. Arne Slot took over the reins and now finds himself 13 points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

While Liverpool was well set up to move into a new era, the speed at which things have come together has been very impressive. And with Manchester City faltering and Arsenal unable to keep pace, the Reds have fully capitalized on the situation they find themselves in.

In Klopp's final message in the new Amazon documentary which has been released about his time at Anfield, the German did predict that this would happen though perhaps even he didn't think it would so quickly.

"I left my office for the last time," Klopp said as the documentary came to a close. "I will be fine, and more importantly the club as well, because you saw the team now, that's a bunch of really good people, and they will be fine, or even more. Somebody will come in, full of dreams, full of energy, full of excitement and full of new ideas, rightly so, and lead the club into that future. It’s great."

Klopp certainly got that right but despite being so far ahead at the top of the Premier League, no one at Liverpool is getting carried away. Instead, while the league title is edging closer, there could be glory in the Carabao Cup and Champions League to secure too.

"I don't know because I don't think that way," Slot insisted during his post-Newcastle press conference when he was asked if the title is now 'close'. "I think about Paris Saint-Germain already. What you don't know but what I do know because I watched them against City, because we played City, and I'm impressed by the quality they have.

"I think they are in a similar run as we are hardly lost any single game for a long time. Though I'm not always correct in data because two days ago my son told me that I made a big, big, big mistake by saying Cristiano Ronaldo never played in the Premier League! So, I'm not sure if Paris Saint-Germain has the same run as ours but they are doing really well.

"My main focus is on Paris Saint-Germain. I forget the league table now, I forget the Premier League now until the moment we've played Paris Saint-Germain and then I will start to think about the Premier League again."

Liverpool.com says: Slot inherited a very good roster of players but he has done well to hit the ground running after taking from Klopp. He has got more out of several players including Cody Gakpo and Ryan Gravenberch and has fitted in perfectly at Anfield, proving himself to be an ideal candidate for the role.
