Arsenal’s slim title hopes diminished even further as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Nottingham Forest.
Riccardo Calafiori’s first-half strike struck the post but otherwise the Gunners’ best moments came from set-pieces, with Mikel Merino forcing Matz Sels into a sharp save shortly after half-time with a header at the back post.
A draw at the City Ground is in isolation not a bad result, but in the context of the Premier League title race it feels like Arsenal have left themselves too much to do.
Should Liverpool beat Newcastle, they will hold a 13-point lead over Mikel Arteta’s side.
