Liverpool will come up against Newcastle United this midweek, and Alexander Isak is set to be a big threat for Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate to contend with. Having scored 19 times so far this season, the Swede has been in exceptional form.
There has already been speculation that Isak could move on and come the summer, Daniel Sturridge and Jamie Carragher are in agreement that there will be interest in the player. Both are big fans of the 24-year-old, who Newcastle has so far refused to place a price tag on in hope of staving off any clubs who might be sniffing around.
"For me, I think he is the best all round," Sturridge said on Sky Sports this weekend. "I think Erling Haaland is a better goalscorer. But for me, all round, what he can do, manipulates the ball, goes 1v1. He can score his own goal if needs to, and he can set his teams up as well.

"I think all-round the guy is a special football player. It will be interesting to see if he stays there next year because I think there are going to be some teams interested."
"I don't really get all the talk about going to Arsenal," Carragher said on the " target="_blank" class="link"> It's Called Soccer! podcast. "I know Arsenal would love him, but one thing I would say as well, Arsenal aren't the only team that need a center forward. Liverpool need one as well.
"I think in the summer, Liverpool will be in the market for a center forward. So I think if he was available, there's no doubt Arsenal would go for him, but I think Liverpool would be part of that queue as well."
Liverpool.com says: If the Reds could pull off a transfer move for Isak, that would be a transformational addition in attack. He would be a dream signing to play down the middle and Mohamed Salah would have a great time alongside him (if he pens a new deal).
In reality, though, Isak might be playing so well that he won't be able to get a move. Newcastle would demand well over $100M for him. Few clubs would be able to put the money on the table and both the Reds and Arsenal would have to smash their transfer records to get him. Other options outside of the Premier League are unlikely because of the sums of money involved.
